Ankle Pain
Dennis Gardner
69 year old male came to our clinic with right ankle and knee pain for the past 10 years. The pain used to come and go but now is constant. After a long day of walking, his ankles swell up and cause pain. Now, any walking aggravates the pain in his ankle and
knee. Two years ago, he consulted an orthopedist who recommended fusion or ankle replacement surgery.
DG’s knee pain started 30 years ago after he fractured his tibia. This made it increasingly difficult for him to walk without pain. He had surgery on his tibia and a screw was placed in his distal tibia.

After his first prolotherapy injection, he was sore for 3 days but then became pain free. He no longer had any knee pain while walking. He felt a small improvement from the prolotherapy on his ankle after the first injection. With each subsequent injection, DG felt his ankle became stronger and more stable. The pain was reduced as well.
