One of the big questions my patients ask me is, "Is Prolotherapy going to work for me?"

That is a great question and approriate question. In my clinical experience with Prolotherapy about 85% of patients experience a significant decrease in the pain levels realtive to back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, arm pain, wrist pain, headaches and more.

I was involved in a serious car accident in 1998.One of my injuries was a completely torn rotator cuff. I was in extreme pain. I could not even blow dry my hair without being in tears. The pain was constant, without let up. It was very persistent. I went to a Physician who specialized in pain. She could not help me. Dear Dr. Darrow:

As you know, when I first began to consult with you several months ago, seeking some relief from my long-term back pain, I was in a pretty desperate and dispirited state.  I had long ago exhausted all conventional forms of medical treatments without any permanent results and was more or less resigned to having to endure the debilitating discomfort forever.  Not a happy prospect for a touring concert artist.  Then, after trying acupuncture, acupressure, and chiropractic adjustments, we decided to try Prolo injection. 

At first I was understandably skeptical, particularly when the first series of shots intensified the pain for a brief period, which you had forewarned me sometimes happens, but as the regularly scheduled series of injections continued over the next few weeks, the pain began to diminish, slowly, but oh so surely.

My husband and I were riding a motorcycle and were hit by a car. I injured my lower back. I was in constant pain for the next 7 months. During that time I went to rehabilitation. My back felt better after treatment but days after, the pain returned.

Dear Dr. Darrow:

I am so glad to have met you earlier this year.  Last year, I injured my right shoulder while playing tennis.  For months I tried to let it heal by itself, but to no avail.  I had pain doing simple tasks such as combing my hair or reaching for my wallet (well I’ve always had pain doing that, Ha Ha).  Anyhow, I finally relented and saw an orthopedist who had it x-rayed.  He concluded I had arthritis and there was nothing he could do.  I was pretty upset because at age 43 I felt I had many years left to play tennis. 

That’s when I met you.  You said you could fix it with a weekly series of Prolotherapy injections.  To make a long story short, you were correct.  After seven treatments I was back on the court playing pain-free.  However, as you know, that terrific state of affairs didn’t last long.  Two weeks later I tore two ligaments in my right ankle stepping on a tennis ball while going for a cross court backhand shot.  It blew up like a balloon.  After I got an MRI the orthopedist said I would probably need surgery.  I told him about you and that I wanted to see what you thought first. 

We decided to give Prolotherapy a chance.  That, combined with an ankle exercise board and heat treatments, and use surgery as a last resort.  Well, once again, you worked your magic and two months later I’m back playing tennis with reckless abandon.  I don’t even need an ankle support.  I couldn’t be more pleased.  I think the book, Prolo Your Pain Away should be mandatory reading for anyone who suffers joint pain, no matter what their age.  It sure opened my eyes.  I plan on playing tennis for another 50 years or so.  Thanks for your help Dr. Darrow.

Dear Dr. Darrow:

After having suffered over a year with severe tendinitis of the left arm and shoulder, I found a therapy that offered complete relief in a relatively short period of time.  That therapy is Prolotherapy, administered by Dr. Marc Darrow at Joint Rehabilitation and Sports Medical Center. 

I first visited an orthopedic physician who specialized in disorders of the shoulder.  The condition was diagnosed as tendinitis by the orthopedic specialist.  He, however, had little to offer in terms of relief or a cure.  The condition persisted and continued for nearly a year.  I was in constant pain and had lost all mobility of my arm and shoulder. 

I searched desperately for an alternative therapy, which led me to Dr. Darrow and Prolotherapy.  After six weeks of this therapy, I regained the use of my arm and shoulder with the absence of pain.  I was amazed with the results.  I would recommend that anyone suffering musculoskeletal disorders or injuries to utilize this under used therapy.  The results are amazing.

I create special effects for Hollywood and my passion is golf. I injured my left elbow playing a little too much golf. The pain was not going away after 3 or 4 months. I visited Dr. Darrow for 2 Prolotherapy injections and I am now completely back to normal and playing golf "like a tiger".

I first came to see Dr. Darrow on 2/25/09 with left knee pain that I had for many years. I live a very active lifestyle and I played Football at the collegiate level and in the NFL for many years with the Atlanta Falcons, San Diego Chargers and New York Jets. I have had multiple surgeries on my left knee including left knee reconstruction, pattelar tendon graft with a mini-Andrews procedure. Since the initial reconstruction in 1986 I have had 6 arthroscopic procedure on my left knee, as well as multiple cortisone injections. My left knee was in constant pain and my activities were limited by the pain.

I have had 5 Prolotherapy injections by Dr. Darrow over about a 3-month period and am very pleased, and surprised to say that I am now 100% pain free. Little did I know that Prolotherapy has been around for a long time. I would definitely recommend and suggest that you contact Dr. Darrow and discuss his treatment. If it worked for me, I truly think it would work for everyone.

Approximately six weeks ago I started Prolotherapy under Marc Darrow.  I have had on and off back pain in the lower lumbar area for approximately 15 years.  After a recent car accident the pain became very acute. 

After only three shots, the pain ceased altogether.  But most amazingly, I started developing major shoulder pain that was very debilitating. Dear Dr. Darrow,

I am emailing you to let you know how thrilled I am at the quick progress of the recovery of my right knee.

First of all, I am a dancer/choreographer who depends on my ability to dance in order to make a living. For the past 16 years, I have been unable to walk at times, let alone dance due to a torn ligament in my right knee. I would experience periods of limited recovery only to find myself re-injured after placing too much stress on the knee.

About 2 months ago, I re-injured my knee and could barely walk due to the ligaments moving all around and experiencing a general instability in that area. After visiting you last week and having only one injection, I couldn't believe that two days later I felt no movement at all in the knee area! That has continued to be the case for the whole week! This is a note to tell you how much better I am doing since I began Prolotherapy with you on March 5, 2009. In only four treatments I no longer feel any pain in my joints. As you will recall, I had severe pain in both hips joints, my sacroiliac and my left wrist.
